Project 03

Simulation-Driven Engineering

An illustration of how thermal, structural and fluid simulation are combined to inform engineering decisions before physical prototyping.

Illustrative technical showcase
Illustrative scalar fields: thermal, structural and flow.

01Challenge

Design choices such as material thickness, cooling geometry or nozzle shape are often made by trial and error. Computational simulation helps to understand the underlying physics and compare options virtually.

02Approach

  1. 01Formulate the engineering question the simulation must answer.
  2. 02Build coupled models for heat transfer, structural loading and flow as needed.
  3. 03Verify numerical models and compare with experimental data when available.
  4. 04Translate results into concrete design recommendations.

03Verified outcomes

No verified outcomes have been published for this project yet. Results will be added here once they have been tested and approved for publication.
